An intro post, in a typically late Ali way
Hope I don't get too wordy about it, but cutting it short I had an account long before
Not like anyone but my fiends would know me, but my regret comes from the history.
Which speaking of, it makes me cringe but at least I had a good reason behind a name that bad.
The Story
So, after seeing my then de facto username was taken, and all the spins on it were as well
I in an attempt to get anything that hadn't been taken started mashing words together
from stream of consciousness and ever-so-slightly wordflow (Still not my strong suit, clearly)
And so it was born, the absolute monstrosity of a username that is DareHackWall666DIE
Yes you read that right. But like I said, biggest regret is throwing that account history
and years of NG browsing basically down the drain.
Wish I knew Supporter status allows for username changes before deleting it
I think even Livecorpse would've laughed at such a nonsense name. Incidental depression aside
About Yours Truly
That line in my profile is no joke. I dabble in everything from writing to making Doom WADs
Maybe if I procrastinated less I could get pretty good at some of those, but on the subject of that.
I actually uploaded one old song (Combine Revolution) there as well as another to my now
long-defunct Soundcloud where I went by The Bad Badnik, then Sonic Shapeshifter.
Been seriously wanting to get into music production again. I have even have finalized track names
for 3 EPs. Which then leads me to mention, my lead tools would be Audacity, Ardour,
Surge and Hydrogen, the latter two for the VSTs, all of them open source
Because say it with me, open source is the best source.
Linux Ramblings
And yes, depending on how things go when you read this I might have matured
from the Windows cocoon and blossomed into a full on EndeavourOS user.
Anyone looking to get into Linux, or planning to do so I mighty recommend you go over
to Alternativeto.net to look for apps to replace all those crummy proprietary ones.
I personally can't live without KeePassXC or CopyQ, and LibreOffice is just a must-have.
So yeah, I'm quite the staunch FOSS supporter. And I'm glad Newgrounds as a company's supporting it as well
