I can see why this is a classic after playing it for a few days,
might go back to score the 5 hours playtime and maybe 10+ million distance.
Glad I'm playing it through Ruffle, which ties to one of my criticisms
A lot sound effects tend to be way too loud, even louder than others
And most importantly, no alternative to WASD. Us lefties always getting the short stick...

Was actually surprised that it ended with just the battlefield, but maybe that's a good thing
Original Rushdown Rivals and this brought me back to a time where waiting a decent bit
for a Web game to load was expected. Haven't seen everything, but still loved my time.
Guess the arcade mode is a nice reason to come back, even if I like the main mode better
Can't think of any real criticism, closest thing to it is a web limitation if anything.
Intro cutscene for the boss can play out rather slowly, like a game disc seeking
the next chunk of data, or just outright stop for a few seconds. That's about it really

Haven't reviewed this yet, so allow me to correct that mistake.
Despite Power Swing being better in (almost) every way,
even when tossing nostalgia aside I find myself coming back to this instead.
Feels much more satisfying, and the music helps you get hyped up.

This review is also an excuse to let people know what the song on level 5 is,
and for those curious. It's "Release The Virgins - Belgian Dance Mix" by D-Devils

Played yesterday after the Alloy reveal caught my eye, was enamored from the start
Criminal I only found just now, style is bold, loud and ticks my boxes.
Combat carries over those qualities too, simple but flexible like a rubber band
I will say, Alloy seems a bit busted, keeping the special out gave me a better time
than actually using normals, as for actual issues. This version doesn't load properly

A glitched out mess basically, tutorial is a solid color void where only the shadows
and player number indicator are visible, after going through the first screen
and quitting out, level graphics do load, but previous issues remain.
Same results on different browser (Brave instead of Firefox)

Which I don't mind, but I'm missing out on the medals by using the downloadable
version, excuse me for turning this review into a bug report,
but figured I could let you know. Might help, I dunno. Hope so

Spagato responds:

Thanks for the feedback!

I've been trying to find that bug for a while but it seems to be related to the game engine itself when handling swf animations through html5. Usually, a refresh might fix the problem but if it doesn't, try turning on hardware acceleration on your web browser to see if that helps.

For a joke version it sure has a decent bit of polish, that said. That same detail
makes me unsure whether to give my feedback or wait for the real one to do it

These parodies are a dime a dozen as we all know, but this one. This one's a winner
The subject is just, utterly perfect. And the humor and inventiveness sure is better
than anything Microshaft Winblows 98 had to offer, look that up if you wanna cringe for real

parroty interactive vs 8bitant

sounds like a plot for cartoon beatbox battles actually-

The rushed nature shows, but it was well worth the effort. A quasi-remake, meta commentary
and an awareness piece? Man, there's so much packed in here replays are recommended

For a simple horizontal shump it's pretty good
But even back then it was at least a bit janky.
With that said, the idea of more content being added based on suggestions was pretty novel

The Newgrounds Rumble sequel we want, but never deserved

All jokes aside, for what's essentially a little hub for NG icons it's pretty neat.
It's both an interactive gag, and a hall of fame. With stellar art and BGM to match
